How to convert PDF pages to JPG images
2026-11-04
A PDF is the right format for documents, but sometimes you need a picture instead. Some upload forms only accept images. A WhatsApp status, a social media post or a presentation slide needs a JPG. And a photo opens instantly on any phone, even one without a PDF reader.
PDF to JPG turns every page of a PDF into a separate JPG image, right in your browser.
Convert PDF to JPG step by step
- Open PDF to JPG.
- Select your PDF.
- Choose the Image quality:
- Normal for viewing on a phone or sending in a chat.
- High (the default) for most uses, including printing small documents.
- Very high (large files) when you need to zoom into small print, or print a page large.
- Click Convert to JPG.
- Download the result:
- A one-page PDF gives you one JPG.
- A PDF with several pages gives you a ZIP file with one JPG per page, named
yourfile-page-1.jpg,yourfile-page-2.jpgand so on.
Opening the ZIP file
A ZIP file is a box that holds several files.
- Android: open the Files app, tap the ZIP in Downloads and tap Extract.
- iPhone: open the Files app and tap the ZIP. It unpacks into a folder next to it.
- Windows and Mac: double-click the ZIP.
Converting just one page
The tool converts every page. If you only want one, use Extract pages first to save that page as its own PDF, then convert it. You get a single JPG and no ZIP to unpack.
Which quality should I choose?
Higher quality means more pixels: sharper text when you zoom in, but a bigger file.
- If the image will be uploaded to a form with a size limit, start with Normal. If the text is hard to read, try High.
- If the image will be printed, choose High or Very high.
- If the page has very small print, like a table in a bank statement, choose Very high so it stays readable when zoomed.
Don't pick Very high by default. On a long document it makes a lot of large files, which take a while to create on an older phone.
PDF to JPG or a screenshot?
A screenshot works in a pinch, but it only captures what fits on your screen, at your screen's size. It often includes bits of the app around the page. PDF to JPG draws the whole page at the quality you choose, with clean edges, and does every page at once.
Going the other way
To turn pictures back into a PDF, use JPG to PDF. It can put several images into one PDF, in the order you choose. See how to turn photos of documents into one PDF.
Things to know
- Text in a JPG isn't text any more. It becomes part of the picture, so you can't select, copy or search it. Keep the PDF as well if you might need the text later.
- Links stop working. Clickable links in the PDF become plain pictures of links.
- File size may go up. A text PDF of a few pages can be smaller than its JPG images, because the PDF stores letters, not pixels.
- Need to edit the content? Images are hard to edit. Use PDF to Word or Edit PDF instead.
Is it private?
Yes. PDF to JPG runs entirely in your browser, using your device to draw each page. Your PDF is never uploaded. On a very long document or an older phone, the conversion can take a little longer, because all the work happens on your device.
