How to put Aadhaar front and back in one PDF

Banks, colleges and job portals often ask you to upload your Aadhaar card with both sides in one PDF. If you have two photos, or two separate PDFs, you can combine them in under a minute.
If you have two photos
- Open JPG to PDF (or Scan to PDF to take the photos with your phone camera).
- Select the front photo and then the back photo.
- Use the arrows to make sure the front is first.
- Choose A4 as the page size if the form will be printed, or Same as image to keep it small.
- Click Convert to PDF and download.
If you have two PDF files
- Open Merge PDF.
- Select both PDFs and put the front side first.
- Click Merge PDF and download the combined file.
Using the e-Aadhaar PDF from UIDAI
The e-Aadhaar you download from the UIDAI website is a password-protected PDF. According to UIDAI, the password is the first four letters of your name in capital letters followed by your year of birth. For example, someone named Priya born in 1995 would use PRIY1995.
Some websites can't read password-protected files. If an upload fails, use Unlock PDF with that password to save a copy without it. Only do this for your own documents.
Make the file small enough
Most forms limit uploads to a few hundred KB. If your merged file is too big, run it through Compress PDF. See our guide on compressing a PDF to under 100 KB.
